AI music by distributor

Which platforms allow uploading AI-generated songs?

Short answer: You can upload AI-generated songs to DistroKid, ONCE, Ditto, Amuse and LANDR, and to TuneCore only if the AI model was trained on fully licensed data. CD Baby won't take them, SoundCloud's own distribution won't take 100% AI tracks, and Bandcamp bans them. Whoever you pick, you need the commercial rights from your generator first: a Suno track needs a Pro or Premier permitted download, and every other generator has its own terms to check.

DistroKidYesYou must own 100% of the rights, including the right to distribute AI output. No impersonation, no mass-generated spam, no infringement. Not in the table: stores that sit behind these services. The stores have their own AI rules, and they can still reject a track your distributor accepted. See which platforms support AI artists for Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer and TIDAL.

    Before you upload anywhere

    1. Check the generator's terms, not the distributor's. The right to release comes from the generator's contract. Suno: Pro or Premier plus a permitted download, and no Remixes or free-tier downloads (Suno Terms). Udio: what to check in its terms. Full table of 20 generators: what you can release.
    2. No real artist's voice. DistroKid, LANDR, Amuse and Ditto all bar impersonating another artist's voice or likeness.
    3. Disclose the AI. DistroKid and LANDR ask at upload. ONCE flags AI itself and sends the metadata.
    4. Don't flood. Mass uploads with duplicate metadata are what spam filters are built to catch.

    Where ONCE fits

ONCE was built for this exact upload: audio, 3000x3000 cover art, 2 credits, go live in about 24 to 72 hours on most stores. No subscription, and credits never expire. ONCE takes 0% of your royalties. A delivery partner deducts 6 to 8% in fees, so no, it isn't "100% of store payouts." The extra credit on every AI release funds the Artist Compensation Fund. When ONCE isn't the right fit

    • Your generator bans third-party distribution. Loudly and Beatoven.ai tracks can't be released through any distributor, ONCE included.
    • You need YouTube Content ID. Not included in the ONCE fee.
    • You want Bandcamp or SoundCloud distribution for a fully AI track. Those rules sit with them.
    • You need physical releases (CD or vinyl). ONCE doesn't do them.

    FAQ

Can I upload Suno songs to DistroKid, TuneCore or ONCE?

Maybe. DistroKid and ONCE accept AI music if you hold the rights, and Suno grants commercial rights only for songs created on Pro or Premier and obtained as a permitted download. TuneCore accepts Suno tracks only from Suno's new industry-partner model. Free-tier, trial and Remix downloads are not commercial.

Why won't CD Baby distribute AI music?

CD Baby says it can't distribute AI-generated content even when the generator allows commercial use, because there is "no way to ensure unique sounds or rights compliance." It's a policy choice, not a law.

Can I upload AI-generated music to SoundCloud?

You can upload it, subject to SoundCloud's copyright and impersonation rules. SoundCloud's distribution and monetization program, however, says recordings that are exclusively (100%) generated by AI are not eligible at this time.

Do I have to disclose that a song is AI-generated?

Most services ask. DistroKid asks which parts are AI at upload, LANDR requires disclosure, and Apple Music's August 2026 partner memo says distributors must tag material AI use. ONCE uses detection to flag AI songs and sends disclosure metadata to stores automatically.

How much does it cost to upload an AI song to ONCE?

2 credits per AI song, paid once. Credits are $1 each at the base rate, with pack discounts (500 credits is $390), and they never expire. Human songs are 1 credit. ONCE takes 0% of royalties, and a delivery partner deducts 6 to 8% in fees.

Which platforms won't take fully AI-generated songs at all?

Bandcamp bans them, CD Baby won't distribute them, and SoundCloud's distribution program excludes 100% AI recordings. Other stores, including Meta, TikTok, Pandora and Qobuz, may reject fully AI tracks depending on your distributor.
